Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?
My name is Yuehua Snow! You can call me either Yue, Yuehua, or Snow for short. However if you know me personally or we’re close enough, you can call me Mai as well. Here’s how to pronounce both Yuèhuá and Mai.

What’s the story behind your username, Yuèhuá Snow? / What inspired your VTuber persona and design?THE LONG ANSWER:
I grew up watching Sailor Moon from time to time, along with other magical girl shows like Shera, Panty & Stocking, Winx, Madoka Magica, and many many others. I was really inspired by Sailor Moon and wanted a ‘Sailor Moon-esque’ Vtuber model, but I also wanted something that was my own original idea, story, and identity separate from the shows I watched growing up. So I did tons- and I mean TONS of research on what inspired all of the shows I watched growing up. What I concluded from my research (mainly behind Sailor Moon), was that a lot of it was inspired mainly from two mythologies. One being the story of Princess Kaguya, and the other being the story of Chang’e. While Princess Kaguya was the ‘main inspiration’ for Sailor Moon, I also wanted to pay homage and respect to the ‘older dated mythos’ in a respectful manner such as my name.
That’s where the "Yuèhuá" part comes in. For those who don't speak Chinese, it means "the splendor of the moon" or “the brilliant light from a full moon”. But it’s way more than just a direct translation in my personal opinion —it's a super poetic word in my eyes. It’s that specific, bright, and beautiful ring of light you sometimes see around the moon, and it gives off this vibe of something ethereal, elegant, and pure. It’s not just light; it’s a feeling of serene beauty and calm. I thought that was just perfect.Lastly, “Snow” in my name kinda reminds me of how even in the toughest of climates, there’s always a better tomorrow where spring can finally come. It’s a brutal reminder for me to always have hope! And for the less ‘deep’ side of it, I was born in a Michigan March. So some years, it’s a cold blizzard winter. Other times, it’s spring. Usually though, it’s the transition period between winter and spring!THE SHORT ANSWER:
Me me like magical girls, me also like mythology, Rosalina, and Sailor Moon. Me did research on Sailor Moon and her inspirations, me also learn some mandarin at the time, so me learn that Princess Kaguya was inspiration for Sailor Moon, but me also learn that Sailor Moon was also heavily inspired by Chang’e. Me learn like learn history, so me do loads of research, me learn Kaguya is sort of later dated Japanese take on Chang’e story/mythos, me learn Chang’e is older dated in comparison to da two. Out of respect, me pay homage to Chang’e with name inspiration.

What is your favorite color?
Now that’s a tricky question. It’s so hard to pick just one! So, I’ll just list my top ones! My favorite colors in no particular order are Red, Pink, Black, and White! But lately I’ve really been loving blue too!

What inspired your channel art and character design?
The goat Akira Egawa with their painterly style. I don’t need to say anything else. Look them up and you’d 100% get it if you know me personally (insert nodding emoji here).

What got you into streaming, and why VTubing specifically?
As a child I had many loves. Art, cartoons, drawing, video games, but I also really loved watching YouTube at around 7-8 years old.
When I was at that age, YouTube was just becoming a place to have fun. I really liked that people would just go on there and have fun and be creative! And as a kid who grew up to love everything creative, I was like “I wanna grow up and do this or make games!”. So I did exactly that. Although the specific details of my childhood were hard, that has and will always be my main goal. It made me happy as a kid, so I wanna do that for other people!
What kind of content do you stream?
I tend to do a lot of gaming content, but I’d also love to do cooking/baking streams, as well as reaction and community-based streams! I love the idea of just hanging out with my viewers and building my own community of people that I can cherish.

What games do you play the most?
I mainly play competitive games since I naturally have a competitive spirit! So that means I mainly play the following:
• Valorant
• League of Legends
• Call of Duty
• CS:GO 2
• Overwatch 2
• Marvel Rivals
• Fortnite
• Puyo-Puyo Tetris
• Mario Kart

Are there any games you’re excited to try on stream?
Since I finally got my pc after waiting for SO LONG, I think my main focus is to just stream since I miss doing that and playing games while engaging with chat really!
But if I HAD to say, any of the competitive games listed above really

Do you do collaborations with other streamers?
I don’t really plan on streaming or collaborating with any other content creators at the moment due to personal experiences. But when I do feel comfortable, you’ll definitely see me talk about when it’ll happen and what the plans are.
If you are, however, wanting to collaborate or stream with me—please send an email specifically to me a week prior and I will get back to you as soon as I can! I will NOT respond to you if you send me a dm on any of my socials because I will not be able to see it.
Do you play with viewers?
YES! I would love to play with my viewers in some games that are more casual and ‘party-like’! If you have any ideas for games to play on stream, you can always just shoot me an email, leave a comment on my youtube, or suggest a game on my throne.

Can I join your Discord?
YESSSS DUH! I along with my server are always welcoming to anyone wanting to join! You can always join either by the discord links directly linked to my channel, this carrd.co website, or my twitch channel that features a link!

Can I send you fan art?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS PLEASE DO!!! I WANNA DEDICATE A SECTION OF THIS SITE AND MY DISCORD FOR ALL MY FANART PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE

How can I support your channel?
Now don’t make me blush oh my gosh. But in all seriousness, if you’d ever feel comfortable or want to help support me, you can always follow & subscribe to me on all of my socials listed in my Linktree! There's also helping me by engaging with my content, leaving comments, and joining my Discord!
For financial support, you can donate to me via my Throne (within the 'monies & bills' section) and Ko-fi, which are both linked on my Linktree. You can also donate directly through Streamlabs with the link found in the "Donation" section of my Twitch channel. However, with Streamlabs, I won't be as quick saying thank you while I am off stream. So DO KEEP THAT IN MIND!
How personal do you get with viewers?
I don't mind talking about any somewhat personal issues like things that might hinder my schedule or streams. If not that, things that are generally crazy stories or things im comfortable sharing with you as my audience and viewers :D
BUT, that DOES NOT MEAN to get parasocial with me and to trauma dump on me or sexualize me. I DO wanna make you guys happy and make your days better, but that does not mean I’m your therapist or your personal friend.
How do you view parasocial relationships?
I am HEAVILY against them and try my best not to engage with the behavior either on any of my platforms, videos, or even streams because.. You don’t know me personally, you know? You don't know where I live unless I were to directly TELL you that as the audience/viewers.
With that being said, NO, don’t vent to me in dm’s or in emails. Although I care about you all, I am not either licensed to do that, nor do I feel comfortable forming trauma bonds with people or being your personal therapist. NO, don’t send me unsolicited images of yourself. That grosses me out and makes me uncomfortable.Any other no no’s you can think of that border para-socialism, apply them here. And if you have to either ask me or ask yourself “are they comfortable with this?” that's probably or most definitely a no.
Is it okay to ask personal questions?
Yes to a degree. If I’m hosting a live meet and greet either in person or digitally (this includes twitch-con or any similar conventions), or if you see me streaming, then yes, you can in or at that moment. Outside of that, no. Especially if you see me by myself or outside of those events.

What’s your goal for the channel?
Well I don’t have a typical ‘goal’ such as ‘reaching one million subscribers’ or ‘gaining one hundred thousand subscribers on twitch’. My MAIN goal is to essentially be able to make a decent living off of making other people happy, having funny moments and laughing with my viewers, and leave the stream knowing I at least brightened someone’s day at the end of my day. That is my goal.
My second goal would be to start a foundation and or charity to help low-income families who need financial aid and support so they don’t end up homeless, and to help ensure the children grow up happy and the parents can eventually retire. I also want to be able to help the homeless since I’ve personally been close to homelessness and seen other family members be homeless.Lastly, I would love to donate to thyroid cancer research, MS research, as well as pcos and endometriosis research. That way more women don’t have to suffer with debilitating diseases and disabilities for the rest of their lives.
What’s your long-term goal as a VTuber?
I don’t have any personal goals specific to VTubing. I guess my main goal is to do this for as long as I can until I personally feel comfortable showing my face and doing more irl content.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?
I think for me, outside of the obvious things like gaming, anime, and learning languages. I also really like drawing and art! It’s so fun being able to express my ideas and thoughts down in a form of media that is essentially permanent.
Another thing I love doing in my free time is learning history! I really thank my fifth grade teacher for getting me into both history and math because before, I really hated it. My favorite historical figures so far are Catherine The Great, Oskar Schindler, Marilyn Monroe, and Malcom X.
What languages are you learning, and why?
I'm studying a FUCK-ton of languages at the moment. But to be brief and a nerd emoji, here's what I’ve been and or have been studying:
• French
• German
• Japanese
• Korean
• Russian
• Spanish (MX, ES, DO)
• Chinese/Mandarin

Do you have any pets?
No, I don’t have any pets at the moment. I would love to get both an Akita dog, and a Ragdoll cat! Preferably both male because I will not be able to properly care for either if they were girls.
I say this because if there’s a crimson moon for me—and knowing me, I can barely take care of myself during that era. I know for sure I would be incapable of taking care of another living being, that’s also unable to care for itself and is reliant upon me WHILE having to deal with their heat also.
